Powell River Diving With Emerald Dive Charters

Powell River diving, with your host Rob Infanti of Emerald Dive Charters, provides you with many options for Powell River's best dive sites.

His boat, a 30 foot aluminum dive boat, has lots of open deck space and can accommodate groups of up to 10 divers - perfect for the numerous dive clubs that frequent the area.

He can typically be found at Powell River's most popular dive sites from Saltery Bay to Desolation Sound, where you can choose from a variety (over 100 known dive sites!) of:

- colorful wall dives

- wreck, deep and tech dives

- interesting shore dives, and

- sight-seeing dives with huge starfish and shellfish under the water and interesting wildlife above the water

The Powell River/Sunshine Coast is also well known by divers as the home of Giant (and I mean Giant) Pacific Octopus, kelp forests full of colorful marine life, wolf eels, giant ling cod, seals, cloud sponges, swimming scallops, natural (and maybe soon artificial) wrecks, rockfish galore, and of course, the world-famous Powell River Mermaid.

Book through CoolDives.com, and for prices as low as $120/person, you'll get your air for a two tank dive, a box lunch made by a local restaurant, and a discount dinner coupon for one of 2 local restaurants.

We can also get you a deal at several of the nearby Powell River hotels if you wish.

The year-round water temperature for Powell River diving varies only slightly between 6 and 8 degrees Celsius (43-45 degrees F), but as the Sunshine Coast name implies, there are also generally clear skies for much of the year.

Emerald Dive Charters - Packages and Prices

Powell River is a well known spot for outdoor enthusiasts to come and enjoy the sights of British Columbia.

It is a scenic, 40 minute flight from Vancouver or an enjoyable ride on one of the BC Ferries that cruise the area.

Remember though, there are safety rules regarding carrying scuba air tanks on the ferries, and making a reservation could save you several hours of waiting time during the peak seasons.

Rob has recognized the uniqueness of the Powell River diving area and the desire of divers to also enjoy other activities while they're here, and has put a couple of great dive and kayak packages together:
