Car Rental Options In British Columbia

Booking a car rental close to the major dive centers of British Columbia is simple.

All of the major International rental agencies are located at the main airports, with car pick-up and drop-off being on-site rather than a shuttle bus drive away.

Major and independent rental offices can also be found in or near hotels in the major dive areas and communities of British Columbia.

Book ahead to ensure you have a large enough car, van or SUV to carry your extra scuba diving equipment.

If you are like me, you’ll want to make commuting to your dive sites quicker and easier by asking for a built-in GPS system as well.

If you are diving in the fall, winter or spring months (the best and cheapest time to dive in British Columbia) and will be driving between the Okanagan and the West Coast, or between Victoria and Nanaimo on Vancouver Island, I also suggest asking for snow tires.

The mountain passes between these areas can sometimes be unpredictable.

Arranging for a car can easily be comparison priced and booked using an on-line service or through a local car rental travel agent.

For on-line services, I recommend Travelocity.com.
